SPOILER ALERT: Don’t read the summary below if you have not read the first, second, and third books in the series as it gives away key plot points from the previous novels.

The Fairest, most Secure, and Honest Election Ever!

Independent presidential candidate Nick Turner is only weeks from the election. In the last week, he has faced a slew of ‘October Surprises’ hurled at him from the Vice President’s campaign and her allies. From accusations of voter fraud and ballot stuffing, to debanking and accusations of sexual misconduct leading to the suicide of a staffer.

These scandals are all amplified by her willing allies in the American Pravda media. The attacks and the death of his staffer have Nick questioning whether it is worth it. His effort to reach the everyday American, increasingly ignored by the mainstream politicians and media, has painted a target on him and his campaign.

Now realizing the blood sport that is American presidential politics, Nick wonders if it is even possible to reverse the trajectory of a nation so divided. Even if he can rouse the ‘silent majority’, will it be enough?

All his efforts lead yet again to ‘the most consequential election in the history of the republic.’ Only this time, the rhetoric may indeed be true. If the Vice President is successful in her quest, she has made no secret of her platform of progressive change. The Constitution will cease to matter.

What is at stake is nothing less than the survival of the founder’s ideas for a country ruled not by kings or elites, but by the common people.

This is the fourth book of the America at the Brink saga. It chronicles Nick Turner’s journey in American politics. From an appointed senator who sacrifices his political future in an attempt to preserve the Legislative filibuster. To a decision to run as an independent Presidential candidate, realizing Washington politicians don’t actually care about their constituents.

As he soldiers on in his campaign, refusing to abide by any of the traditional ways of campaigning, namely raising money in return for promises of favors, Nick starts to build a coalition. By focusing on the common man and woman all but forgotten and taken for granted by traditional politicians, Nick speaks to what matters to each of them, personally.

This approach wins him a following. As he gains momentum, his opponents start to take notice and begin to attack him and his followers. Using the tried and true dirty tricks of presidential campaigns, Nick tries to keep his momentum and stay alive long enough to get to election day.

Throughout his campaign, he has made it clear, everyone has a choice. To wake up, stand up, and think for themselves, or let others do it for them, giving their freedom and fate into the hands of those in charge.
